🏢 Which Amer centres are there in Bur Dubai?
Bur Dubai (بر دبي) is the historic district on the western side of Dubai Creek — Al Mankhool, BurJuman, Meena Bazaar, Al Fahidi, the Grand Souq and Al Shindagha. GDRFA writes “Bur Dubai –” before many addresses simply to mean the Creek side, so its list looks longer than it is. The table shows only the centres inside the Bur Dubai district; Amer in Karama and the centres around Al Jafiliya have their own guide.

🛍️ Where exactly is the Amer center BurJuman?
Amer BurJuman is the trade name of Ejad Businessmen Transaction, listed by GDRFA at “Bur Dubai – Al-Mankhool”. Its GDRFA map pin sits on the BurJuman complex — the mall and office towers at the corner of Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road. Gulf News reported an Amer centre opening in BurJuman in 2019. Phone: 04 337 7444 or 056 616 6152 (GDRFA listing).
Why is the Amer centre BurJuman so popular?
Location. BurJuman metro is an interchange of the Red and Green lines, so people come from Deira, Karama, Satwa and Jumeirah without a car, and the mall car park makes driving simpler than in the old souq lanes. The trade-off: it is often one of the busier Amer centres in this part of Dubai, especially at lunchtime and on Saturdays.
Which floor or entrance is Amer BurJuman on?
GDRFA gives only the area and the map pin, not the floor. Mall directories and the centre itself give the exact unit — ask when you call 04 337 7444, and allow a few minutes to find it inside the complex.
🏬 Is there an Amer centre at Al Khaleej Centre on Al Mankhool Road?
Yes. GDRFA lists Alyalayis Government Transaction – Al Khaleej Center Branch, phone 050 384 4000. Its location field says “Business Bay”, but the branch name and the GDRFA map pin both point to Al Khaleej Centre on Al Mankhool Road, a few minutes' walk west of BurJuman. Use the pin, not the label. If the GDRFA number does not answer, the Amer call centre 800 5111 can confirm the branch.
Is Al Khaleej Centre quieter than BurJuman?
Often, but not always — it depends on the day. Both centres serve Al Mankhool, Karama and Meena Bazaar residents. If one is crowded, the other is close enough to walk to.
What about the Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street and Umm Hurair listings?
Aldeyafa Government Transactions (04 353 8555) is listed on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street, with its pin east of BurJuman. Dubai National Government Services (04 370 5468) is labelled “Umm Hurair area”, but its pin sits near Al Mankhool and BurJuman. A second Al Mankhool listing, Al Deyafa Al Mumayaza Government Services (04 225 4090), has a pin nearer Al Satwa — call before you go to confirm which building it is in.
🕌 Is there an Amer centre near Meena Bazaar, the Grand Souq or Al Shindagha?
Yes, two. True Link Government Transaction Center is listed at the Grand Souq (Bur Dubai Souk), near Meena Bazaar and the textile souq — phone 04 312 3333 or 054 363 6325. Prints Business Men Services is listed at Al Shindagha, by the Creek and the Shindagha heritage area — phone 04 402 9999. They suit residents of Al Fahidi, Al Souq Al Kabeer and Al Ghubaiba, and anyone coming across the Creek by abra from Deira.
🕗 What are the Amer center Bur Dubai timings?
GDRFA does not publish hours for individual Amer centres. Amer centres usually open about 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday; some open on Sunday or close for Friday prayers — call the centre on its GDRFA-listed number before you go. Hours also change in Ramadan and around public holidays.
Is any Amer centre in Bur Dubai open 24 hours?
None of the Bur Dubai centres is listed by GDRFA as 24 hours. What is open around the clock:
When is the Amer centre in BurJuman least busy?
Usually early in the morning, soon after opening, and in the middle of the week. Lunchtime, evenings, Saturdays and the days just before or after a public holiday are usually busier. Visa expiry rushes at the end of the month can add to the queue.
🚇 How do I get to the Amer centres in Bur Dubai by metro or car?
| Centre | Nearest metro (approx.) | Parking |
|---|---|---|
| Amer BurJuman | BurJuman (Red and Green lines) | BurJuman mall car park (paid); street parking around Al Mankhool |
| Al Khaleej Centre | BurJuman or Al Fahidi | Paid street parking on Al Mankhool Road and side streets |
| Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street | BurJuman | Paid street parking; busy at peak times |
| Grand Souq | Al Ghubaiba or Al Fahidi (Green line); abra from Deira | Very limited — public transport recommended |
| Al Shindagha | Al Ghubaiba (Green line) | Paid parking near Shindagha; limited at weekends |
Metro and parking details are approximate, from the map pins and the area — not from GDRFA.

🧾 What services can I get at an Amer centre in Bur Dubai?
Every GDRFA-listed Amer centre types and submits the same GDRFA residence and entry-permit services:
🎒 What documents should I take to Amer BurJuman?
It depends on the service, but for most family transactions take originals and clear copies of:
Can someone else go to the Amer centre for me?
Often yes — a relative or colleague can hand over the documents for typing and submission. Some cases need the sponsor in person or the sponsor's UAE Pass, so call the centre first.
🩺 What still needs you in person, even if you apply online?
Amer centres only type and submit. These steps are done elsewhere, whether you use Amer, GDRFA online or FamilyVisa.ae:
| Step | Where | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Medical fitness test (residence) | A DHA-approved medical fitness centre in Dubai — see medical and Emirates ID locations | Family members 18 and over |
| Emirates ID biometrics (fingerprints, photo) | An ICP centre, when the system asks | Usually adults; children under 15 are often exempt |
| Original passport or documents | Only where the authority asks | Case by case |
| Special cases — absconding, humanitarian, amnesty-type regularisation | May need a GDRFA visit (Al Jafiliya head office or Al Awir) | Case by case |
Is the GDRFA head office near Bur Dubai the same as Amer?
No. GDRFA's head office in Al Jafiliya, behind Jafiliya Police Station, is run by GDRFA itself. It deals with cases an Amer centre cannot finish. Most routine family visa work never needs it.
💻 Can I skip the Amer centre in Bur Dubai and apply online?
Yes. GDRFA treats its website, the GDRFA DXB app and Dubai Now as equal channels to an Amer centre for entry permits, residence issue and renewal, cancellation and change of status. You can apply yourself with UAE Pass, or let us do it.

What can FamilyVisa.ae do 100% online for Bur Dubai residents?
⚖️ Amer centre vs GDRFA online vs FamilyVisa.ae: which is better?

| At the Amer centre | Online with GDRFA yourself | FamilyVisa.ae (online) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Travel and queue | Trip to BurJuman or the souq, token, wait | None | None |

| When | Centre hours (call first) | 24/7 | Send documents any time on WhatsApp |

| Other services | The fee shown in the GDRFA system + centre charges | The fee shown in the GDRFA system | The fee shown in the GDRFA system |
| Medical and biometrics | Still in person | Still in person | Still in person — we tell you when |
Is applying online slower than going to Amer?
No. The same GDRFA team decides the application whichever channel submits it. What changes is who types it and whether you have to travel. Processing times depend on the service — see residence visa processing time.
What happens if I miss my visa expiry while waiting for an Amer slot?
Fines start. The overstay fine is AED 50 a day for all visas, and after a family visa is cancelled the family member has 59 days to leave or move to a new visa. Do not let a queue push you past the date — apply online. More in our visa grace period guide.
