What makes up the fee?

Every Emirates ID invoice is built from the same four blocks. Once you know them, no quote can surprise you.

Card feeAED 100 / year

The core ICP charge — AED 100 for every year of validity. A 2-year resident card is AED 200; a 10-year Golden Visa card is AED 1,000.

Application feeAED 40–70

AED 40 if filed as a self-service eForm, AED 30–70 at typing centers. Charged on every application — new, renewal or replacement.

Fawri urgent service+ AED 150

Optional 24-hour issuance at ICP main centers. Available for new cards, renewals and replacements alike.

Fines & extrasavoidable

AED 20/day late-renewal fine (max AED 1,000) and the AED 300 replacement fee for lost cards — the only fees you can fully avoid.

Late renewal fineAED 20/day after 30-day graceup to AED 1,000

Indicative ICP government fees as of July 2026. Typing center charges vary by emirate (AED 30–70) and small PCI printing fees may apply. Children under 15 pay the same card fee but skip biometrics. Our service charge is always quoted separately, in writing.

Four ways people overpay — and how not to.

Most “expensive” Emirates IDs are just avoidable extras. These are the four we see weekly.

Missing the grace period

30 days after expiry, the AED 20/day fine starts. On a 2-year renewal, 50 late days doubles your cost. Renew inside the window — it's the single biggest saving.

Paying Fawri when not needed

Standard issuance is already 24–48h after approval. Pay the AED 150 only when you genuinely need the card tomorrow — flight, bank deadline, job start.

Typing center add-ons

Photocopies, photos, 'follow-up fees' — small cash extras add up at physical centers. Online filing has one itemized price.

Replacing a nearly-expired card

A replacement (AED 370) keeps the old expiry date. If your card was expiring within months anyway, renewing instead may cost the same and reset the clock — ask us first.

Emirates ID cost FAQ

What are the Emirates ID fees for 2 years?
AED 270 in government fees: AED 200 card fee (AED 100 × 2 years) plus roughly AED 70 application and typing. This is the most common scenario for residents on 2-year visas.
How much is the Emirates ID for a 10-year Golden Visa?
AED 1,070 in government fees — AED 1,000 card fee plus about AED 70 application. It's paid once and covers the full decade.
Why did I pay more than these amounts at a typing center?
Physical centers add their own service charges, VAT on services, photo and copy fees. The ICP government fee itself is fixed — always ask for the government fee and service charge as separate lines.
Is the Emirates ID fee refundable if my application is rejected?
Application fees are generally non-refundable, which is why correct typing matters. Card fees for unissued cards can be refundable in specific ICP cases — we advise before you pay.
How much is the fine if my Emirates ID expired months ago?
AED 20 per day after the 30-day grace period, capped at AED 1,000. Even a card expired for a year costs at most AED 1,000 in fines plus normal renewal fees.
Do children pay the same Emirates ID fees?
Yes — the card fee is the same AED 100 per year of the child's visa. Children under 15 skip the biometrics step but the fees don't change.
