Amer Karama is the name most people use for the Amer visa centres in Al Karama, Dubai (الكرامة) — but GDRFA actually lists four Amer centres in Karama, plus two more next door in Oud Metha. This guide gives each centre's official name, GDRFA-listed phone number and map pin, the nearest metro, what you can do there and what to bring. It also explains which steps still need you in person, and how FamilyVisa.ae can submit eligible applications online so you can skip the trip.

Why go to Amer when Amer comes to you?
FamilyVisa.ae is a private, DET-licensed company — not an Amer centre or a government office. We prepare and submit eligible GDRFA applications online for you. Send your documents on WhatsApp from your flat in Karama or your office — no ticket, no queue, no parking search. You go in person only for the steps no one can do for you: the medical test and, when asked, Emirates ID biometrics.
🔎 Which centre is “Amer Karama”?
There is no single official “Amer Karama”. Amer centres are private companies licensed and listed by GDRFA Dubai, and each one has a trade name. Two of the Karama centres are commonly called “Amer Karama”:
Both are genuine GDRFA-listed Amer centres and submit the same GDRFA applications, so for most people the right “Amer Karama” is simply the one closest to them. Searching in Arabic? The phrase is مركز امر الكرامة.
📍 Where are the Amer centres in Al Karama? Phones and map pins
The four Amer centres below are listed on GDRFA's own website (checked 15 October 2026). The name, location text and phone come from each centre's GDRFA listing; the map pin is GDRFA's. Landmarks and metro distances are our estimate (approx.).

Where exactly is each Karama centre?
🕗 What are the Amer Karama timings?
GDRFA does not publish opening hours for individual Amer centres, so any exact “Amer Karama timings” you see online are the centre's own claim or a blog's guess. As a rule of thumb: Amer centres usually open about 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday; some open on Sunday or close for Friday prayers — call the centre on its GDRFA-listed number before you go.
Is any Amer centre near Karama open 24 hours?
Not one that GDRFA lists in Karama. The only official 24/7 counter in Dubai is GDRFA's own Customer Happiness Centre at DXB Terminal 3 Arrivals — a GDRFA centre, not an Amer centre. GDRFA's Al Awir centre opens every day from 6 am to 10 pm (Ramadan 7 am–5 pm). Amer247 (24 Seven Government Transaction Center, Al Khabaisi, Deira, 04 230 0500) advertises 24/7; GDRFA does not list its hours. The Amer call centre (800 5111) and GDRFA's online channels — the GDRFA website, the GDRFA DXB app and Dubai Now — run 24/7. More in our 24-hour Amer options in Dubai guide.
🚇 How do I get to Amer Karama by metro, and where do I park?
Al Karama sits between three Red and Green Line stations. By the GDRFA map pins (approx.):
Is there parking near the Karama Amer centres?
Mostly paid street parking, and Karama is one of Dubai's busiest residential districts — spaces near the shops and restaurants fill quickly, especially in the evening and at weekends. Fees and hours are on the RTA signs on each street. The metro plus a short walk is often faster than circling for a space.
When is it usually quieter?
Usually early in the morning on weekdays. Evenings, Saturdays, the start of the month and the days before public holidays are often busier. Queues change, so call first — or skip the queue entirely.
🏙️ Karama or Oud Metha: which Amer centres are next door?
If the Karama centres are busy, two more GDRFA-listed Amer centres are a short ride away in Oud Metha, and one in Al Jafiliya:
| Centre | Area · phone | Links |
|---|---|---|
| TAREEF SERVICES CENTER LLC | Oud Metha · 04 358 8666 | map pin · GDRFA listing |
| TASHEEL GOVERNMENT SERVICES (Ontime Group) | Oud Metha · 600 570007 / 04 606 0960 | map pin · GDRFA listing |
| MAF GOVERNMENT TRANSACTIONS CENTER LLC | Al Jafiliya (Dignity) · 04 388 5578 | map pin · GDRFA listing |

⚖️ Is Tasheel the same as Amer?
No — they serve different authorities. Tasheel centres handle MOHRE work matters: work permits, labour contracts and labour cancellations. Amer centres handle GDRFA residency matters: entry permits, residence visas, renewals, cancellations and change of status. The confusing exception is right next to Karama: Tasheel Government Services (Ontime Group) in Oud Metha is listed by GDRFA as an Amer centre, despite its name.
📋 What can I do at an Amer centre in Karama?
Every GDRFA-listed Amer centre types and submits the same GDRFA applications:
Can I pay an overstay fine at Amer Karama?
Yes, on a Dubai file. The fine is AED 50 a day after the grace period — 59 days after a family visa is cancelled. Check the amount first with our visa fine check guide.
🎒 What should I bring to the Amer centre in Karama?
Requirements depend on the transaction, but for a family visa (new or renewal) the centre usually asks for:
Full list: family visa documents checklist. New sponsor? Start with how to apply for a UAE family visa.
🧍 What still needs me in person?
Amer centres only type and submit. Whether you use Amer Karama, GDRFA online or FamilyVisa.ae, these steps still need you:
| Step | Where | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Medical fitness test (residence) | A DHA-approved medical fitness centre in Dubai — not at Amer | Family members aged 18 and over |
| Emirates ID biometrics (fingerprints, photo) | An ICP centre, when the system asks — not at Amer | Children under 15 are often exempt |
| Original documents | Only where the authority asks for them | Case by case |
| Special cases | Absconding, humanitarian or regularisation cases may need a GDRFA visit | Case by case |
