- Frequently asked questions
Whether you search for Amer center Qusais, Amer Qusais or Amer centre Qusais, the centres below are the ones GDRFA itself lists for this area. Popular names on maps and social media vary; the official trade name is what you will see on the receipt. For the whole city, see our Amer centre guide: services, fees and documents.
📍 Where are the Amer centres in Al Qusais?
GDRFA lists five Amer centres with an Al Qusais address. Note that GDRFA writes "Deira –" before every district on this side of the Creek; it means the Deira side of Dubai, not Deira itself.
| Centre (GDRFA name) | GDRFA location | Phone (GDRFA) | Find it |

Where is Amer Quick Plus?
The Amer Quick Plus branch people search for is Quick Plus Government Transactions LLC. Its GDRFA map pin sits in the north-east corner of Al Qusais, a short drive from the Sharjah border, so it is handy for residents of Al Qusais 3 and for commuters who come in from Al Nahda (Sharjah) or Muweilah. There is no metro station within walking distance of the pin (approx.), so plan on a car or taxi.
Which Al Qusais centre is closest to the metro?
By the GDRFA pins, Gulf Vision is about 1 km north of Al Nahda metro station (Green Line, on Al Nahda Street in Al Qusais 1 — confusingly, the station is named after the street, not the district). The Bin Shabib Mall and Al Taamul Al Thaki pins are 1–2 km further east, usually a short taxi ride. All distances here are approximate.
🏙️ Is there an Amer centre in Al Nahda?
Yes. Altasamuh Government Transaction Center LLC is GDRFA's listed Amer centre for Al Nahda 1 (Amer center Al Nahda 1), phone 04 259 9990. Its pin sits in the residential towers between Al Nahda Park and Al Qusais, so it suits families in Al Nahda 1 and 2 who would rather not cross Damascus Street. If it is busy, the Amer al Nahda alternative is the Bin Shabib Mall centre about 700 m away by the pins (approx.).
| Centre (GDRFA name) | GDRFA location | Phone (GDRFA) | Find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Altasamuh Government Transaction Center LLC Residential side of Al Nahda 1 | Al Nahda 1 | 04 259 9990 | Map · GDRFA listing |
| Abdulwahed Bin Shabeb Government Transaction Center Short drive from Al Nahda 1 and 2 | Bin Shabib Mall | 04 287 2333 | Map · GDRFA listing |
Is Al Nahda Dubai the same as Al Nahda Sharjah?
No — and this matters for visas. Al Nahda 1 and 2 are in Dubai; the towers across the border are Al Nahda, Sharjah. Where you live does not decide where your visa goes: the emirate that issued the visa does. A Sharjah resident with a Dubai visa can use any Amer centre in Al Nahda; a Dubai resident with a Sharjah visa cannot (see below).
🛍️ Is there an Amer centre in Madina Mall?
Yes. The Amer center Madina Mall shoppers find is One Click (ICL) Government Transactions Center, listed by GDRFA under Muhaisnah 4, phone 050 255 5997. GDRFA's search title calls it "One Click" while the page itself says "ICL" — same listing. Madina Mall is the main landmark for Muhaisnah 4 and its labour-accommodation and villa blocks, and the mall car park makes Amer Madina Mall one of the easier visits in the area. Gulf News has reported that Dubai's first Amer centre opened in Muhaisnah 4 in 2017.
| Centre (GDRFA name) | GDRFA location | Phone (GDRFA) | Find it |

🏛️ Where is the Amer centre in Al Twar — and how is it different from GDRFA Al Twar?
Searches for Amer center Al Twar or Amer Al Twar can lead to three different offices. Two are private Amer centres; the third is GDRFA's own government centre.
| Centre (GDRFA name) | GDRFA location | Phone (GDRFA) | Find it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Altwar Government Service Center Pin near Al Qusais metro (Green Line) and Al Twar Centre (approx.) | Al Twar | 800 11000 | Map · GDRFA listing |

| GDRFA Al Twar Center Section Government centre — not Amer | Al Twar Municipality New Building, Al Twar 2 | 800 5111 04 707 5262 | GDRFA listing |
What does GDRFA Al Twar do that an Amer centre does not?
Amer centres type and submit standard applications. GDRFA's own customer happiness centres handle cases that need an officer: complaints, returned or rejected applications, special or humanitarian cases and some file corrections. GDRFA lists the Al Twar Center Section as open Monday to Thursday 7:30 am to 7 pm, and Friday 7:30 am to 12 noon and 2:30 pm to 7 pm. Start with an Amer centre or online; go to GDRFA Al Twar when you are told to, or call 800 5111 first.
Al Twar Centre — the older mall on Al Nahda Road next to Al Qusais metro station — is listed by Bayut as hosting several government counters, and a business directory places Altwar Government Service Center on the ground floor of a Dubai Economy building on 16 Street, Al Qusais 2. These details are from the listings, not from GDRFA; follow the GDRFA map pin.
🕗 What are the opening hours of Amer centres in Al Qusais, Al Nahda and Al Twar?
GDRFA does not publish hours for individual Amer centres. Amer centres usually open about 8 am to 8 pm, Monday to Saturday; some open on Sunday or close for Friday prayers — call the centre on its GDRFA-listed number before you go.
Is there a 24-hour Amer centre near Al Qusais?
None of the nine centres in this area is listed as 24 hours. The options that are open around the clock:
More on late-night options in our guide to 24-hour Amer services in Dubai.
When is it usually quieter?
There is no official queue data. Centres are usually quieter early in the morning and mid-week, and busier at the start and end of the month, on Saturdays and the day before a public holiday. Mall-based centres (Madina Mall, Bin Shabib Mall) get busier in the evening.
🧭 Which Amer centre in Al Qusais, Al Nahda or Al Twar should I choose?
Every Amer centre works on the same GDRFA system, applies the same government rules and can handle the same standard services. Choose by distance, parking and the queue:
| If you live or work in… | Usually the easiest choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Al Qusais 1, near Damascus Street | Gulf Vision | About 1 km from Al Nahda metro (approx.) |
| Al Qusais 3 / Sharjah border | Quick Plus | Pin in north-east Al Qusais |
| Al Nahda 1 and 2 | Altasamuh, or Bin Shabib Mall | Short trips without crossing the main roads |
| Al Qusais Industrial areas | Al Taamul Al Thaki | On the industrial side; handy for workers' visas |
| Muhaisnah 2–4 | One Click (ICL), Madina Mall | Mall parking and shops while you wait |
| Al Twar 1–3, Dubai Airport Free Zone | Altwar Government Service Center or Al Hijrah | Near Al Qusais metro (approx.) / Al Twar 1 |
| A rejected or special case | GDRFA Al Twar Center Section | A GDRFA officer, not a typist |
Nearby areas have their own guides: Amer centres in Karama and Amer centres in Ras Al Khor. To compare all branches city-wide, find the nearest Amer centre.
🛣️ I live near the Sharjah border — can I use Amer in Al Qusais?
Thousands of people in Al Qusais and Al Nahda cross the Sharjah border every day, so this question comes up a lot. The rule is simple: Amer centres handle Dubai visas only.
🧾 What can I do at an Amer centre in Al Qusais?
Amer centres type and submit GDRFA applications. GDRFA's service pages list, among others:
What documents should I bring to Amer in Al Qusais?
Usually: the passport and visa page of the person applying, the sponsor's passport and Emirates ID, a recent photo, and the documents for the service — salary certificate, tenancy contract (not needed for a wife and children in Dubai), attested marriage or birth certificates. Our family visa documents checklist has the full list.
How much does Amer charge?
You pay the government fee shown in the GDRFA system plus the Amer centre's own service fee, printed on the receipt. GDRFA's FAQ confirms that Amer fees come on top of the government fee. The system amount at submission is the final reference.
🚶 What still needs me in person — even with an Amer centre?
Amer itself does neither the medical test nor the biometrics. Amer only types and submits. Whichever channel you use, these steps stay in person:
| Step | Where | Who |
|---|---|---|
| Medical fitness test (residence) | A DHA-approved medical fitness centre in Dubai | Applicants 18 and over |
| Emirates ID biometrics (fingerprints, photo) | An ICP centre, when the system asks | Children under 15 are often exempt |
| Originals | Passport or documents collected only where the authority asks | Case by case |
| Special cases | GDRFA centre (e.g. Al Twar or Al Awir) | Absconding, humanitarian or regularisation cases may need a visit |
Find medical and biometrics centres near Al Qusais in our medical and Emirates ID locations guide. There is no general amnesty now; if your case involves a long overstay, read our UAE visa amnesty guide — the overstay fine is AED 50 a day.
