Visa Medical Result Check Online (2026): How to Check Your UAE Visa Fit Medical Result in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the Other Emirates — Timelines, Download, Unfit Results and Family Members
A visa medical result check takes two minutes once you know which portal your emirate uses: the DHA app in Dubai, the TAMM visa screening result service for SEHA tests in Abu Dhabi, and Emirates Health Services (EHS) in Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah. All you need is the reference number from the SMS you received after the test and the passport or UID number. A normal result usually takes about 24 hours in Dubai and up to 48 hours in Abu Dhabi, and it goes to immigration electronically — you rarely need a printout. This guide shows the steps for each emirate, how to get a copy of the report, what "fit" and "unfit" mean, retests, and the medical rules for family members and children.

🏥 Where are UAE visa medical results issued?
The medical fitness test is done in the emirate that issues the visa, and each emirate has its own health authority and its own result portal. Pick the row that matches the visa:
| Visa issued in | Who runs the test | Where to check the result | Normal result time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai | DHA-approved medical fitness centres (Salem centres) | DHA app — Check Medical Fitness Test Status | About 24 hours |
| Abu Dhabi and Al Ain | SEHA Disease Prevention & Screening Centres and DOH-approved centres | TAMM — Visa screening result | Up to 48 hours |
| Sharjah, Ajman, RAK, UAQ, Fujairah | EHS residence medical examination centres | SMS and the EHS website or app | Usually 1–3 working days |
Need a centre near you? Our visa medical and Emirates ID locations page lists them, and for Abu Dhabi we have a full guide to visa medical in Abu Dhabi (SEHA centres).
📱 How do I check my visa medical result online in Dubai?
Dubai results are checked in the DHA app (Dubai Health Authority), free on iOS and Android. You can log in with UAE Pass or create a DHA account. Then:
🌐 How do I check my visa fit medical result online with SEHA in Abu Dhabi?
Abu Dhabi visa screening results (SEHA and the other approved centres) are checked on TAMM, the Abu Dhabi government services platform. No login is needed:
🏙️ How do I check the medical result in Sharjah and the northern emirates?
In Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujairah, the test is run by Emirates Health Services (EHS) at dedicated residence medical examination centres (since June 2024). The result comes by SMS, the EHS website and app show the status, and the result is sent to ICP electronically.
⏱️ How long does the visa medical result take?
About 24 hours in Dubai and up to 48 hours in Abu Dhabi for a normal test, counted from the time you give the blood sample and do the X-ray. Weekends and public holidays can add a day. If you are in a hurry, VIP and fast-track tests are available:

| Test | Usual result time | Fee |
|---|---|---|
| Dubai — normal | About 24 hours | About AED 270 |
| Dubai — VIP | About 6 hours | About AED 700 |
| Abu Dhabi — standard (SEHA) | Up to 48 hours | AED 250 |
| Abu Dhabi — fast track | Faster, often within 24 hours | AED 350 |
| Abu Dhabi — premium / VIP | Within 24 hours, same day at some centres | AED 500 |
| Northern emirates — normal | Usually 1–3 working days | About AED 250 |
Fees as published by the centres and health authorities on 15 October 2026; domestic workers and some job categories pay a little more, and the amount shown at the centre when you pay is the final reference.
📄 How do I download or print the visa medical report?
In most cases you do not need to. The result travels electronically from DHA, SEHA or EHS to GDRFA or ICP, and the visa file updates by itself. You only need a copy if an employer, a school or a typing centre asks for one:
✅ What do "fit", "unfit" and "in process" mean?
Which diseases does the UAE visa medical test check?
Every adult applicant is screened for HIV and tuberculosis — a blood test and a chest X-ray. People in some jobs (domestic workers, nannies, nursery staff, food handlers, salon and health club workers) are also tested for hepatitis B and sometimes syphilis, and may need vaccination. Female domestic workers may also need a pregnancy test. A sponsored wife on a family visa does not take a pregnancy test.
🔁 What happens after an unfit result, and is a retest possible?
A repeat test is common; a final unfit result is rare. If the first sample or X-ray is unclear, the centre calls the person back to repeat it — go back as soon as possible, because the visa file waits for the new result. A final unfit result is different:
👨👩👧 Do family members and children need a visa medical test?
Only family members 18 and over. A wife, husband, adult son, daughter or parent on a family visa takes the medical test for the first visa and again at every renewal. Children under 18 do not need a visa medical — their file goes straight to the Emirates ID and residence steps.

| Family member | Visa medical? | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Wife or husband | Yes | New visa and every renewal |
| Son or daughter 18 and over | Yes | Sons up to 25; daughters while unmarried |
| Son or daughter under 18 | No | Exempt until the first renewal after turning 18 |
| Mother or father | Yes | 1-year parents visa, test repeated each year |
| Maid or nanny | Yes | Extra tests (hepatitis B, pregnancy for women) |
What order do the family visa steps follow after the medical?
Entry permit (or change of status), medical test for adults, Emirates ID biometrics, then the residence visa. Track the last steps with our Emirates ID status check guide, and see the full process in how to apply for a UAE family visa.

❓ Frequently asked questions
1. How do I check my visa medical result online in Dubai?
Open the DHA app, go to Services, then Other Services, and choose Check Medical Fitness Test Status. Enter the reference number from the SMS you received after the test, your date of birth and your passport number. The status shows In process or Completed.
2. How do I check my visa medical result in Abu Dhabi?
Use the Visa screening result service on TAMM (tamm.abudhabi). Enter the application number from the SMS sent after your test and your Unified ID (UID) number from the visa page, complete the captcha and submit. No account is needed.
3. How long does the visa medical result take?
In Dubai a normal test usually takes about 24 hours. In Abu Dhabi a standard SEHA test usually takes up to 48 hours, often less. VIP and fast-track tests are quicker but cost more.
4. Do children need a visa medical test?
No. The medical fitness test is only for family members 18 and over. Children under 18 go straight to the Emirates ID and residence stamping steps.
5. What happens if the visa medical result is unfit?
The residence visa is not issued or renewed for that person, and the entry permit or visa file has to be closed. Some conditions found at renewal, such as treatable tuberculosis, can lead to a conditional certificate and treatment instead. The health authority and immigration decide each case.
6. Do I need to print the visa medical report?
Usually not. The result goes electronically from the health authority to GDRFA or ICP, and the visa file moves on by itself. Keep the SMS and a screenshot of the status in case anyone asks.
7. Can I download the SEHA visa medical report?
You can see the status on TAMM with the application number and UID. If you need a paper copy, for example for an employer, ask the SEHA screening centre where you did the test; immigration does not need a printout.
8. What is the reference number for the medical result?
It is the number in the SMS you receive after registering or after the test. Dubai calls it the request reference number; Abu Dhabi calls it the application number. Keep that SMS until the visa is stamped.
9. Where do I find my UID number for the Abu Dhabi result check?
The Unified ID (UID) number is printed on the entry permit or the residence visa. It is also shown in the ICP smart services account for the person.
10. What does 'in process' mean on the DHA app?
It means the samples and X-ray are still being reviewed. Check again later; in Dubai most normal results move to Completed within about 24 hours.
11. What does 'fit' mean on the visa medical result?
Fit means the person is free of the conditions screened for residence, so the visa file can move to the Emirates ID and residence steps.
12. Which diseases does the visa medical test check?
For all applicants: HIV and tuberculosis (blood test and chest X-ray). Some jobs, such as domestic workers, nursery staff, food handlers and salon workers, are also tested for hepatitis B and sometimes syphilis. Female domestic workers may need a pregnancy test.
13. What if I don't receive the medical result SMS?
Wait 48 hours, then check online with your passport number and reference number, or call the centre. In Dubai the DHA call centre is 800 342; in Abu Dhabi SEHA is 80050.
14. Can I get the visa medical result faster?
Yes. Dubai has VIP tests with results in about 6 hours (AED 700 at many centres). Abu Dhabi has fast-track and premium tests (AED 350 and AED 500) at selected centres.
15. How much does the visa medical test cost?
About AED 270 for a normal test in Dubai and AED 250 for a standard test in Abu Dhabi. Domestic workers and some job categories pay a little more; VIP and fast-track tests cost more.
16. Is the visa medical needed for a family visa renewal?
Yes, for family members 18 and over. The medical test is repeated at every residence renewal, not only for the first visa.
17. Is a retest possible after the visa medical?
Sometimes the centre calls a person back to repeat a sample or the X-ray because the first result was unclear. Go back quickly; the visa file waits until the repeat result is in.
18. Does a medical done in Dubai work for an Abu Dhabi visa?
No. The medical is done in the emirate that issues the visa: Dubai visas at Dubai centres, Abu Dhabi visas at Abu Dhabi centres, and the other emirates at EHS-approved centres.
19. Does a wife need a pregnancy test for a family visa medical?
No. The pregnancy test applies to female domestic workers, not to a sponsored wife on a family visa.
20. What comes after a fit visa medical result?
Emirates ID biometrics (if asked) and the residence visa approval. Check the Emirates ID status online on ICP with the application number.
