UAE Golden Visa for Managers (2026): Full Guide — Salary Rule, Current Requirements & What Changed
Rules as of October 2026: to get the 10-year UAE Golden Visa as a manager you need a basic salary of AED 30,000 or more received for more than 2 years, more than 2 years in the same company, a job title of manager or higher, a bachelor's degree with an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education, and an employer with more than 20 employees. Government fees are AED 4,137.
Unlike the property route, where the rules have been relaxed, the managers' route has become stricter step by step. Many websites — and AI answers — still describe the early rules, when an AED 30,000 salary was enough. This guide starts with what applies today, then shows exactly what changed and why.

✅ The managers' Golden Visa requirements today (October 2026)
- Basic salary: AED 30,000 or more per month, received for more than 2 years. Allowances don't count.
- Company tenure: more than 2 years in the same company.
- Job title: manager or higher, as recorded in your labour contract.
- Education: a bachelor's degree, attested, with an equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education.
- Employer: a company with more than 20 employees.
- Free zone employees: an NOC and a salary certificate issued by the free zone authority.
- My basic salary is AED 30,000 or more per month.
- I have received it for more than 2 years.
- I have worked in the same company for more than 2 years.
- My job title is manager or higher.
- I hold a bachelor's degree (or I can get its equivalency certificate).
- My employer has more than 20 employees.
🕰️ How the managers' Golden Visa rules were tightened

- At launch: salary only. A salary of AED 30,000 was the only real criterion.
- 3 months of salary proof. Applicants then had to show the AED 30,000 salary for three months.
- 6 months of salary proof. The period was extended to six months.
- Degree equivalency added. An attested degree was no longer enough; an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education became mandatory.
- Today (October 2026). More than 2 years of AED 30,000 basic salary, more than 2 years in the same company, a manager title or higher, degree equivalency and an employer with more than 20 employees.
⚖️ Old rules vs current rules
| Topic | Earlier rule | Rule now (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Salary | AED 30,000 — that was the only criterion at launch | AED 30,000 basic salary, received for more than 2 years |
| Salary proof | 3 months, later 6 months of statements | More than 2 years |
| Time in the company | Not checked | More than 2 years in the same company |
| Degree | Graduate with an attested degree | Attested degree + equivalency certificate (Ministry of Education) |
| Company | Any company | More than 20 employees |
| Free zone employees | Company documents | NOC and salary certificate from the free zone authority |
🔍 Why the rules were tightened
The managers' route was misused. Some applicants were given a manager title or an AED 30,000 salary for just a few months — long enough to become eligible — and the arrangement ended once the visa was issued. Others met the conditions only on paper. The longer salary and tenure history, the degree equivalency and the company-size check make the Golden Visa reflect a genuine senior career.
💵 Basic salary vs total package
This is where most manager applications fail. Only the basic salary in your labour contract counts; housing, transport and other allowances are excluded.
Example: a total package of AED 35,000 made up of AED 22,000 basic and AED 13,000 allowances does not qualify, because the basic salary is below AED 30,000.
🏝️ Free zone employees: two extra documents
If you work for a free zone company, you need two documents issued by the free zone authority — not by your company:
- NOC from the free zone authority.
- Salary certificate from the free zone authority.
📄 Documents required
| Document | Note |
|---|---|
| Passport copy | — |
| Visa copy | Your current UAE residence visa |
| Photo | — |
| Attested educational degree | Bachelor's degree or higher |
| Equivalency certificate | For the degree, from the Ministry of Education |
| Labour contract | Shows the job title and basic salary |
| Personal bank statement | Shows the salary received |
| NOC from employer | Free zone: NOC and salary certificate from the free zone authority |

❓ Frequently asked questions
1. What are the Golden Visa requirements for managers in 2026?
As of October 2026: a basic salary of AED 30,000 or more received for more than 2 years, more than 2 years in the same company, a manager-level or higher job title, a bachelor's degree with an equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education, and an employer with more than 20 employees.
2. What is the salary requirement for the UAE Golden Visa?
A basic salary of AED 30,000 or more per month. Only the basic salary counts — housing, transport and other allowances are not included — and it must have been received for more than 2 years.
3. Is an AED 30,000 total salary enough for the Golden Visa?
No. The AED 30,000 must be your basic salary. A total package of AED 30,000 or more with a lower basic salary does not qualify.
4. How long do I need to work in the same company?
More than 2 years. Earlier, 3 months and later 6 months of salary proof were enough; today the authorities ask for more than 2 years with the same employer.
5. Is degree attestation enough for the managers' Golden Visa?
No, not any more. Earlier an attested degree was enough. Today you also need an equivalency certificate for the degree from the UAE Ministry of Education.
6. Does the size of my company matter?
Yes. Under the current rules the company must have more than 20 employees. Earlier, the size of the company was not checked.
7. Which job titles qualify?
Manager or higher, as recorded in your labour contract — for example manager, senior manager, director, general manager or CEO.
8. What documents do managers need?
Passport copy, visa copy, photo, attested educational degree, equivalency certificate for the degree, labour contract, personal bank statement and an NOC from the employer.
9. What extra documents do free zone employees need?
Two documents issued by the free zone authority — not by the company: an NOC and a salary certificate.
10. Why did the rules for managers become stricter?
Because the route was misused: some people held a manager title or an AED 30,000 salary only for a short period to become eligible, or only on paper. The longer salary and tenure history, the degree equivalency and the company-size check are meant to stop that.
11. How much does the managers' Golden Visa cost?
Government fees are AED 4,137 for the main applicant: AED 2,710 immigration and visa, AED 1,154 for the 10-year Emirates ID and AED 273 for the medical test. There is no DLD fee.
12. Can I change jobs after getting the managers' Golden Visa?
Yes. Once issued, the Golden Visa is not tied to your employer, so you can change jobs and keep your residency. To renew it, you must still qualify for a Golden Visa route at renewal time.
13. What if I don't meet the salary or tenure rule yet?
Other Golden Visa routes may fit instead — for example property worth AED 2 million, a company you own, or an AED 2 million fixed deposit. We can check which route works for you.
14. How long does the managers' Golden Visa take?
The timeline is confirmed after we review your documents, because degree equivalency and employer documents vary from case to case. Timelines are estimates, not guarantees.
